Georgia has many key physical features and they all have their on special way of contributing to the development of Georgia. the fall line for example, is an ancient shoreline that is now a big stubborn waterfall. The fall line runs on the current counties, Macon, Augusta, and Columbus and was important to development because the settlers decided to settle where the fall line was because of the immobility of resources and because of the significant water source. The Okefenokee swamp is a swamp that is in southern Georgia to northern Florida and was significant to the settlers because of all the wildlife and food. The Appalachian plateau is located at the north west corner of Georgia and was important because of the large coal resources. The Chattahoochee and Savannah are both rivers on the outskirts of the eastern and western sides of GA. both of the rivers are beneficial because they are used as borders toward Alabama and south Carolina. The barrier islands are a chain of islands that are on the coast of Georgia. These islands are very important as they shield the main land from natural disasters such as hurricanes and high winds that can cause erosion.
